General Description


·         Maintain a secure data and voice communications network
·         Administer core routers and switches to ensure reliable access to network systems, applications, and services
·         Provide 3rd level operations support for network related cases and incidents
 


Responsibilities & Duties


·         Install, maintain, manage, and support the company IP data and voice network
·         Conduct analysis of network topology
·         Maintain back-ups of all network configurations.
·         Provide third level support for company Technical Support and Application Support teams
·         Provide pro-active monitoring of network components.
·         Ensure that the network infrastructure meets security requirements.
·         Provide a consultative role to company customers to design and implement network topologies that provide the highest availability possible.
·         Design, document, and install customer connections.
·         Ensure effective capacity planning
·         Maintain and manage network services including DNS and email
·         24/7 coverage on a rotational basis


Work Experience, Education, Competencies



Minimum a College Diploma specializing in Computer Science and 5+ years experience in implementing, operating and troubleshooting data networks.
Strong customer and team relationship skills
Fast learner
Advanced EIGRP design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience.
Advanced experience with Cisco Catalyst switches (3500, 4500, 37 series).
Experience with firewalls (Cisco PIX, Checkpoint, and Juniper (Netscreen).
Experience with High-availability load-balancing experience (F5 Bigip).
Experience with Cisco VPNs.
Experience with Linux administration an asset.
Experience with BIND, sendmail, SMTP, mailman an asset.
