General Description


Manage and support system components
Supervisory / Team Lead experience is MANDATORY


Responsibilities & Duties


 Follow up with customers on complex service requests, providing action plans and resolution dates as required
Report on operational metrics, case progress and action plans to Management on a regular basis
Developing a strong working knowledge of  system processes
Manage all UNIX, EMC and SAN Hardware
Oversee upgrades and patch management as required
Administer all core system software including web servers, application servers, BEA middleware and IBM WebSphereMQ
Manage data volumes and server clusters
Ensure adequate capacity to meet business and application requirements
24/7 support on a rotational basis
Document all infrastructure component processes
Ensure high quality service delivery
Ensure compliance with 5970 audit requirements


Work Experience, Education, Competencies



Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
Certified Solaris system administrator.
8+ years experience in Solaris 8-10 support and administration
3+ years of supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of core technologies including BEA, Oracle, IBM WebSphereMQ and Entrust PKI
Knowledge of Veritas Foundation Suite, Netbackup, Keon and Ace.
Experience with EMC Power Path and EMC Connect.
Proficient in UNIX shell Scripting.
Hand on experience with enterprise class servers.
Experience in troubleshooting EMC and Sun hardware related issues
Knowledge of Brocade silkworm switches.
Ability to work under pressure and provide after-hours support for projects and support.
The capability to integrate monitoring and performance tools and analyze their output
Good knowledge of network connectivity, protocols and the ability to configure servers as per prescribed standards
Knowledge of mass storage platforms like SAN, NAS, Disk Arrays etc.
